No you need to use salicylic acid which has the ability to penetrate pores and exfoliate inside the pore instead of layering crap on top of the skin forcing debris deeper into the pore. Use a benzoyl peroxide product to reduce the number of bacteria on the skin and in the pore thriving on the oil and dead skin cells.
And you need to find out about the ingredients in the “recipe” of the salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide products you buy to fight acne, to make sure they don’t contain potential skin irritants (like lemon and vinegar) — because if they irritate your skin, you’ll have to stop using them and then you’ll be right back where you started. Tea tree oil is effective against bacteria, but nothing like benzoyl peroxide is. Honey has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties meaning it can improve the overall condition of the skin and reduce redness. The clay mask mentioned below can’t do any “deep cleansing”. It is made of beeswax and Fuller’s earth (basically a salt). It can absorb excess oil and that’s it. The salt may be abrasive enough to exfoliate skin, but it can’t do that just resting on the skin. The beeswax serves only as a thickening agent.
